Commitment to Accessibility for All

Radio Markham York Inc. is committed to making all of its services and facilities accessible to employees and clients. This includes ensuring that persons with disabilities are not disadvantaged in any way from accessing Radio Markham York Inc. offices, studios or our broadcast or digital products.  Under the Accessible Canada Act, the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission Accessibility Reporting Regulations and the Accessible Canada Regulations Radio Markham York Inc. must establish a process for receiving and responding to feedback about how we are implementing our accessibility plan and the manner in which we provide facilities and services to persons with disabilities.

The purpose of the feedback process under this legislation is to ensure that Radio Markham York Inc. identifies and removes existing barriers and prevents new barriers from arising. Information on this feedback will include information about what actions are required to be taken after feedback is received. The feedback is provided is voluntary and may take the form of a suggestion, complaint or question regarding Radio Markham York Inc.’s accessibility.  It may be anonymous or identified as that of a person or group. Where the originator of the feedback is known, Radio Markham York Inc. will consult the individual or organization providing the feedback to determine what is the most accessible or appropriate alternate format or accessible communication support.

Responses

All feedback will be treated confidentially and Radio Markham York Inc. will acknowledge submissions within five business days. We will also provide a timeframe for resolution or redress. We will follow-up with any required action within the timeframe noted in the acknowledgement. Radio Markham York Inc. works directly with charities that service many of the groups needing enhanced accessibility. We will continue to seek their input and that of employees who required assistance to function independently in the workplace.

Accessibility Feedback Form

The purpose of the accessibility feedback form is to collect information from persons with disabilities who may be experiencing difficulties related to one of the following areas:

  1. Content accessibility (e.g. I can’t find closed captions or described video)
  2. Digital accessibility (e.g. I can’t use my assistive technology on the website or app)
