MONTREAL — The Quebec independent investigation bureau has launched an investigation following an intervention in Inukjuak involving the Nunavik Police Service.
Information provided to the bureau suggests two people were severely injured.
The independent bureau reports gun shots were exchanged, but that it is too early to know the cause of the injuries.
The intervention involving the police took place at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Five independent investigators have been assigned to the case, and the bureau says their team is on the way to the community.
This is the second time this year the independent investigation bureau is called to Inukjuak.
