TORONTO — Toronto police have released more information about a Christmas Eve crash into a storefront that’s left one dead and others injured.
Police say officers responded to the collision just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the area of Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West.
They say a 93-year-old driving a Nissan Murano entered a plaza, but for unknown reasons lost control of his vehicle and drove into the front of a store.
Police say the driver struck five people in the store, leaving a 67-year-old man dead. Two women were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while three more had minor injuries.
The driver along with a female passenger were also transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have heard or seen anything — or who may have dashcam footage of the collision — to contact investigators.
