Suspect surrenders after shelter-in-place lifted in Sauble Falls, Ont.

Written by on March 22, 2026

Provincial police say a suspect who was on the loose in the Sauble Falls area has surrendered after the incident triggered a shelter-in-place advisory Saturday evening.

Grey Bruce OPP warned residents in the area to stay indoors and lock all doors and windows after officers responded to a disturbance involving a person who was potentially armed.

OPP lifted the shelter-in-place advisory shortly before midnight after they say it was determined there was no immediate threat to public safety.

OPP say the suspect turned themself in Sunday morning and they were taken into custody without incident.

OPP say no injuries were reported following the initial disturbance.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
