Southern Ontario hit with wintry mix of snow, freezing rain
Written by The Canadian Press on March 29, 2025
Spring has arrived, but many Ontarians will have to brace for a blast of winter.
Snow and freezing rain are expected this weekend across much of southern Ontario.
Weather warnings are covering an area from Sault Ste. Marie up north to Guelph in the south and Kingston out east.
Environment Canada says the freezing rain may cause slippery surfaces, broken tree branches and power outages.
Police have advised against unnecessary travel in the coming days.
Conditions in some areas are expected to improve Monday as the weather system moves out of the province.
Hydro One says power outages are possible due to the accumulation of heavy wet snow or freezing rain.
