Seven people charged in Ontario drug trafficking investigation: police

Ontario Provincial Police say seven people are facing multiple charges in a drug-trafficking investigation that stretched from the Toronto area to Napenee.
OPP and Durham regional police executed search warrants at homes in Whitby and Napanee, where they say they found drugs and cash.
Police say they found 16 grams of suspected fentanyl, one kilogram of suspected cocaine, Percocet tablets, a fully loaded handgun and ammunition, along with about $20,000 in Canadian and U.S. currency.
They say about $40,000 in stolen jewelry, as well as cellphones, scales and other drug-trafficking materials, were also seized.
Police say seven people, ranging in age from 24 to 55, were arrested and charged with drug and firearm offences.
They say six of the accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing while one was released and is scheduled to appear in court later.
