Quebec 14-year-old likely to face new charge after 73-year-old woman dies of injuries

Written by on November 12, 2025

Quebec provincial police say a charge against a 14-year-old boy is likely to be updated because a woman found injured inside a home earlier this week has died.

Police say they found a 73-year-old woman with serious injuries in a home in Ste-Julienne, Que., at around 2 a.m. Tuesday, following a tip.

She was transported to hospital where she died around 9:30 p.m. that night.

The teen was arrested after he was discovered not far from the home, behind the wheel of a vehicle that had swerved off the road.

He had appeared in youth court on charges of aggravated assault about 30 minutes before the woman died.

Police say they don’t know what charge the prosecutor will choose, but it will possibly be linked to homicide.
