Police watchdog investigating after deaths of two men in Burlington, Ont., home
Written by The Canadian Press on June 3, 2025
Two men are dead and a woman was taken to hospital after what police are calling a disturbance at a Burlington, Ont., home overnight.
Ontario’s police watchdog says Halton Region officers were called to a home on Cornerstone Drive at around 12:30 a.m.
The Special Investigations Unit says a man fled upstairs when officers responded to the home, and they found him with a self-inflicted injury.
The SIU says officers provided life-saving measures and called paramedics, but the 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It says another man was found dead in the home and a woman was taken to hospital with non-serious injuries.
The unit did not immediately provide details on the deaths, but called it “an isolated incident.”
Halton Region police say there is no known risk to public safety, and the force is conducting a parallel criminal investigation.
The SIU, which responds when police have been involved in a death or injury, says four investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
