Police ID remains near Barrie encampment as victim of 2025 double homicide

BARRIE — Police in Barrie, Ont., say they have identified remains found last month as William “Blake” Robinson, the victim of an alleged 2025 double homicide.
Police say the 45-year-old man’s remains were found in a wooded area near a former encampment at the centre of the homicide case.
Last year, police arrested and charged 52-year-old Robert Ladouceur in connection to the alleged killing and dismemberment of Robinson and 41-year-old David Cheesequay.
Investigators have said the accused and victims had all lived in the encampment in recent years.
Robinson was last heard from in January 2025, the same month investigators say they believe he was killed, while Cheesequay was reported missing at the end of July 2025.
Police initially said they would treat the remains found last month near the encampment as separate from the double homicide case as they waited for forensic identification results.
