OPP investigating fatal snowmobile collision in Cochrane

COCHRANE — The Ontario Provincial Police from the James Bay Detachment are investigating a fatal snowmobile collision in the Town of Cochrane, north of Timmins.
Emergency crews responded around 9 a.m. on Saturday to a crash involving a snowmobile and a commercial motor vehicle at the intersection of OFSC Trail A and 2nd Street.
The snowmobile driver, a 19-year-old man from Vaughan, was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported.
OPP Technical Incident Management and Enforcement Team members and OPP Scenes of Crime Officers are assisting the investigation with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
Police are asking anyone with any information to contact the James Bay OPP or Crime Stoppers.
