Ontario air ambulance carrying six people missing off Nantucket: U.S. Coast Guard

Written by on October 3, 2026

The U.S. Coast Guard says an Ontario air ambulance carrying six people
has gone missing.

In a social media post, the agency says the Federal Aviation Administration lost contact with the plane early Saturday as it was travelling from Bermuda to Boston.

The coast guard says it has launched a search mission off the coast of Nantucket, an island in Massachusetts.

The aircraft, a Gulfstream G100 jet, is registered to Latitude Air Ambulance, according to the website Flightradar24.

The company is based in Hamilton, Ont., and offers emergency medical transportation by plane worldwide, according to its website.

Ontario’s air ambulance service provider Ornge reacted to the news of the missing plane Saturday, writing in a social media post that it hopes “the aircraft and all passengers are located safely and quickly.”
