One person dead after Sudbury, Ont., encampment tent fire: police

SUDBURY — Police in Sudbury, Ont., say one person is dead after a tent fire at a homeless encampment.
Police say they were called around 10 p.m. Monday to the Energy Court encampment.
Officers were told people had used snow to put the fire out.
Police say a person was then found dead inside the tent.
The coroner’s office is set to do a post-mortem to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
Police say detectives are working in collaboration with the coroner’s office and the fire marshall’s office.
