Toronto police say one person is dead after an alleged hit-and-run involving two vehicles in the city’s midtown Wednesday morning.
Police say they were called to the scene near Eglinton Avenue and Dunfield Avenue just after 7:15 a.m.
They say a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and she later died from her injuries.
Police allege two suspect vehicles fled the scene, including what is believed to be a white SUV with front-end damage that was last seen travelling west.
Police say they do not have a description of the second suspect vehicle at this time, but they believe it was last seen travelling east.
Police say the area is closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic as officers investigate.
