Mom, dad, 2 kids were the four people found dead in rural Ontario home, mayor says

Written by on June 21, 2024

HARROW TOWNSHIP — The mayor of a southwestern Ontario town says a mother, father and two young children were the four people found dead at a home in the rural community of Harrow.

Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy says the deaths have had a “huge impact” on the town because it is a small, tight-knit community where everybody knows everybody.

She says the mother who died was very involved in the community, working local jobs, coaching soccer and working at the local youth centre.

Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating what they have described as an “unimaginable tragedy” in the community located a 45 minute drive south of Windsor, Ont.

Police have said officers were called to a residence in Harrow around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, where four people were found dead.

They would not say whether the case was being treated as suspicious or offer details about the people found dead.
