Man, woman charged in 2024 death of four-month-old Ontario baby

Police say a man and woman from Barrie, Ont., are facing charges in the 2024 death of a four-month-old baby.
South Simcoe Police say they charged the 31-year-old man with manslaughter and the 26-year-old woman with failing to provide the necessities of life.
In the early morning of Nov. 8, 2024, police say officers responded to a medical call at a home in Innisfil where an infant was found without vital signs.
The baby was first sent to a Barrie hospital before going to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.
Police say the infant died in hospital on Nov. 10 from injuries sustained on Nov. 8.
The suspects in the case were arrested on Wednesday.
Police did not immediately confirm the relationship between the infant and the accused.
