TORONTO — A Toronto man has been charged with first-degree murder after a shooting on a bus near one of the city’s busiest shopping malls.
Toronto police say officers arrested a 40-year-old man earlier this week.
They say in a news release the man appeared in court on Monday, but no other details were offered.
Officers were called to the scene of the shooting at the Yorkdale GO bus terminal, next to the Yorkdale Shopping Centre in North York, on Sunday evening.
They say officers discovered one man who had been shot, and he died at the scene from his injuries.
The killing is Toronto’s first homicide of 2026.
