Human foosball players shooting for Guinness World Record with massive game

Written by on May 23, 2026

TORONTO — A group of human foosball players is looking to score a Guinness World Record this weekend.

As part of the buildup to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has organized what it hopes will be the world’s largest game of human foosball.

The event takes place Saturday at Humber Polytechnic’s Lakeshore Campus in Etobicoke during Doors Open Toronto.

Organizers say 250 players will compete inside a custom-built life-size foosball arena measuring 150 by 68 feet.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be on hand to verify the attempt.

Toronto is set to host games during the World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19.

Games will also be hosted in Vancouver, as well as locations in the U.S. and Mexico.

OLG says the Toronto celebration will also support grassroots soccer programs and coaching initiatives across Ontario.
