Elderly woman dies after house fire in Newmarket, Ont.: police

NEWMARKET, ONT. — Police north of Toronto say an elderly woman is dead after a morning house fire.
York regional police say two men have also been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Emergency crews responded to the fire on Kirby Crescent in Newmarket shortly after 6:30 a.m.
Police say the elderly woman was sent to hospital in life-threatening condition and later died.
They say there’s no suspicion of criminality.
The fire marshal has been called to investigate.
