Cyclist dead after hit-and-run crash in southwestern Ontario, police say

GLEN MORRIS — Police in southwest Ontario are investigating a fatal collision involving a cyclist.

Provincial police in Glen Morris, a town halfway between Brantford and Kitchener, say officers were called to East River Road on Sunday morning after motorist reported seeing an unresponsive cyclist and vehicle debris in a ditch.

They say the cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.

Police say no further details will be released about the cyclist until their next of kin is notified.

The investigation is ongoing and police say East River Road between Glen Morris Road West and Highway 24 is expected to be closed for several hours.
