Written by on February 27, 2026

VARESE — Canada’s para hockey team wrapped up its pre-Paralympic schedule Friday with a 4-0 win over Italy.

Dominic Cozzolino of Mississauga, Ont., and James Dunn of Wallacetown, Ont., each had a goal and an assist for Canada. Adam Dixon of Midland, Ont., and Tyler McGregor of Forest, Ont., also scored.

Greg Westlake of Oakville, Ont., and Micah Kovacevich of Edmonton added assists.

Canada outshot Italy 32-7 in front of a vocal home crowd.

Corbin Watson of Kingsville, Ont., got the win in net as Canada recorded its second straight shutout of the host Italians. Canada was an 8-0 winner Wednesday in Turin.

Canada opens the Paralympic Winter Games on March 7 against Slovakia.

“It’s hard to believe we’re days away from the Paralympic Winter Games,” Cozzolino said. “It’s going to be an amazing experience, and every one of us in that room is ready to show the world what Canadian hockey is all about.”

Canada has reached the para hockey podium at six of eight Paralympics since 1994, but hasn’t won gold since Turin in 2006. The United States is the four-time defending champion.
