At least one dead, several injured in serious Toronto collision on Christmas Eve

TORONTO — Toronto police say at least one person is dead and several more are injured after a serious collision in the north end on Christmas Eve.
Police say officers responded to reports of a collision in the area of Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West just before 2:30 p.m.
Police initially said that a vehicle crashed into a building and attempts were being made to extract a male pedestrian who was trapped.
Investigators added in an update that a male pedestrian was pronounced dead, a female pedestrian was brought to hospital on a trauma run and a third pedestrian suffered minor injuries.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and was brought to hospital along with a passenger, both of them with minor injuries.
They did not immediately share further details about the circumstances of the crash.
