Written by The Canadian Press on April 22, 2026
Provincial police say they have charged a fourth person in connection with the murder of Robbie Thomson, a man from Smiths Falls, Ont., whose remains were discovered last year after he went missing in 2023.
OPP say a 42-year-old from Smiths Falls was arrested on Tuesday and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Last fall, the OPP said it charged three people with first-degree murder in the case.
A day later, police said they executed a search warrant at a residence near Smiths Falls, where they found Thomson’s remains.
Police say Thomson was 34 years old when he went missing in October 2023.
The OPP says it will maintain a presence at the property where Thomson’s remains were found as part of the ongoing investigation.
