Bus driver charged after Highway 401 rollover that injured multiple people

NAPANEE — Provincial police have charged the driver of a bus that rolled over in February east of Napanee, Ont., in an incident that injured multiple people.
OPP say a 42-year-old from Brampton, Ont., has been charged with careless driving, 10 counts of careless driving causing bodily harm and unsafe moving.
They say the bus was carrying 47 people as well as the driver when it went into the ditch and rolled over in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in the area of Old Wilton Road on Feb. 22.
At the time, police said eight people were hurt, with injuries that included cuts, broken bones and dislocations.
OPP said the injured people were taken to two local hospitals for treatment, and the highway’s eastbound lanes were closed in the area for about four hours.
The suspect is due in court on May 1.
