TORONTO — Toronto police say a suspect is wanted for murder in the unprovoked shooting of a 15-year-old boy last June, and two other men have been arrested in the case.
Det. Sgt. Phil Campbell says 20-year-old Abdul Yeberebaba is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder and is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact police.
Campbell says two others accused of being accessories to Jahkai Jack’s murder after the fact – a 19-year-old from Toronto and a 21-year-old who was arrested in B.C.– have already been arrested and charged.
Toronto police said last year that Jack was killed after he and some friends met with another group of people, which led to a verbal exchange between Jack and a man who went on to pull out a gun and shoot the teenager.
Toronto police said Jack was pronounced dead at a hospital and the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
Campbell said Jack was not involved in gangs or criminal activity.
