TORONTO — Hydro One Ltd. reported its net income attributable to common shareholders was $233 million during the fourth quarter, rising from $200 million during the same period a year earlier.
That amounted to earnings per share of 39 cents during the quarter, compared with 33 cents the prior year.
Hydro One says some of the factors that drove the profit increase included lower operation, maintenance and administration costs as well as increased revenue from higher peak demand.
The power utility says its revenues reached $2.27 billion during the period ended Dec. 31, rising year-over-year from $2.1 billion.
Hydro One says that during the fourth quarter, it was selected to construct a new priority transmission line between Bowmanville, Ont., and the Greater Toronto Area.
In November of last year, Hydro One CEO David Lebeter resumed his role at the helm of the organization after taking a compassionate care leave in August.
