Written by on December 22, 2025

Police in York Region say eight people have been arrested and face more than 30 charges in a drug trafficking investigation at the U.S. border and across the province.

Police say their investigation began last December in partnership with provincial police and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration after they identified a suspect who was allegedly importing and exporting large quantities of controlled substances.

They say investigators executed five search warrants at homes in the Greater Toronto Area on Oct. 25.

Police say officers seized drugs including methamphetamine, raw fentanyl, MDMA tablets and cannabis.

They say officers also seized more than $300,000 in cash, three firearms with ammunition and two vehicles.

Police say the eight suspects, ranging in ages from 27 to 64, are collectively facing 34 charges.
