Man charged with murder in case of intimate partner violence: Windsor, Ont., police

Police in Windsor, Ont., say a man has been charged with first-degree murder in a case of intimate partner violence.
They say the 29-year-old suspect was arrested for stunt driving in the Chatham Street East and Goyeau Street area shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, and officers noticed a large amount of dried blood on his face and body.
Further investigation led police to a home on Langlois Avenue, where officers found a woman with no vital signs.
Police say the 26-year-old victim was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
They say it was the fourth homicide in Windsor so far this year.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
“This tragic event underscores the devastating impact of intimate partner violence, which has been declared an epidemic in Windsor and more than 100 other municipalities across Ontario,” police said in a statement.
