Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill |

During the 2015 Federal election, Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill voters elected Leona Alleslev, at the time, a Liberal candidate, to be their representative in parliament. Three years later, Alleslev crossed the floor to join the Conservative Party of Canada. In 2011, the seat was also held by the Conservatives. Running as the Liberal candidate for the riding in 2019 is Leah Taylor Roy, a former business executive. Also in the running, NDP candidate, climate activist and lifelong Richmond Hill resident, Aaron Brown. Timothy Flemming, a former Sears senior executive who was born in Richmond Hill is running as part of the Green party. A lawyer and investment banker by trade, Priya Patil will be representing the People’s Party of Canada. And running on behalf of the Libertarian Party is Serge Korovitsyn who heads up a startup IT company. |

The boundaries for the riding of King-Vaughan were re-drawn and made official when the writ dropped for the 2015 Federal Election. Liberal incumbent, Deb Schulte, former Vaughan and regional councilor, was the first MP elected to the riding. She has thrown her hat in the ring for a chance at a second term. Also in the running, Kettleby resident Anna Roberts is representing the Conservative Party of Canada. Roberts brings with her 30 years of banking and financial industry experience. The NDP candidate in the riding is Emilio Bernardo-Ciddio – a Vaughan resident who graduated from York University’s Department of Music where he was heavily involved in student governance. Professional Engineer Ann Raney is representing the Green Party in King-Vaughan. In 2015, she founded a refugee sponsorship charity for which she received a volunteer award from King Township. Anton Strgacic is representing the People’s Party of Canada. |

During the 2015 Federal election, Markham-Stouffville voters elected Dr. Jane Philpott at the time, a Liberal candidate, to represent them in parliament. Philpott has since left the Liberal Party following the SNC Lavalin scandal and is running as an independent in 2019 Federal Election. Philpott is the first MP to be elected since the ridings of Markham-Unionville and Oak Ridges-Markham were amalgamated into the riding of Markham-Stouffville in 2015. Running as the Liberal candidate for the riding in 2019 is Dr. Helena Jaczek, former Member of Provincial Parliament for Oak Ridges-Markham. Also in the running, NDP candidate, Dr. Hal Berman, MD, PhD, and assistant professor at the University of Toronto. Representing the Green Party is candidate, Roy Long. Jeremy Lin is the candidate in the riding for the People’s Party of Canada. And running on behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada is entrepreneur Theodore Antony. |

During the 2015 Federal election, residents of Markham-Thornhill elected Liberal candidate Mary Ng to be their representative in parliament. Ng is seeking re-election in the 2019 Federal Election. The Liberal Party has a strong hold in the area, having been elected in 2011 and 2015. Representing the Conservative Party in this election is an entrepreneur, humanitarian and long-time York Region resident Alex Yuan. Ryerson politics alum Paul Sahbaz is the NDP candidate in this riding. He previously participated in a number of political campaigns and decided to run for office in 2019. Chris Williams is both a teacher and representative of the Green Party. Peter Remedios is this ridings candidate for the People’s Party. |

During the 2015 Federal election, Markham-Unionville residents elected Bob Saroya of the Conservative Party of Canada to be their representative in parliament. Saroya defeated Liberal incumbent, John McCallum, who served as the MP for the riding since it was formed in 2004. Saroya is running for re-election in 2019. Entrepreneur and longtime local resident, Alan Ho is representing the Liberal Party in the upcoming election. Running for the Greens is life-long Markham resident Elvin Kao. The NDP candidate is business owner and community service worker Gregory Hines. And Representing the People’s Party is economist and taekwondo Olympian, Sarah Chung. |

During the 2015 Federal election, Newmarket-Aurora voters elected Kyle Peterson of the Liberal Party to be their representative in parliament. Peterson defeated long-time Conservative incumbent, Lois Brown, who served from 2008 until 2015. Brown is running in the same riding on behalf of the Conservatives once again in 2019. Peterson decided not to run again in 2019. Instead, Newmarket resident and former mayor, Tony Van Bynen, is representing the Liberals in the upcoming election. Anti-poverty and affordable housing advocate Yvonne Kelly is running in the riding for the NDP. The Green Party is being represented by engineer Walter Bauer. Andrew McCaughtrie is running on behalf of the People’s Party of Canada. |

O’Connell has served as the MP since the ridings of Ajax-Pickering and Pickering-Scarborough were amalgamated in 2015. Philanthropist and entrepreneur Cyma Musarat is running as the Conservative candidate in this riding. Representing the NDP is retired Registered Nurse and public health advocate, Eileen Higdon. The Green Party candidate is Seneca College professor Peter Forint. And representing the People’s Party of Canada is former Pickering-Scarborough East Conservative MP, Corneliu Chisu. |

Jowhari is running once again as the Liberal party’s candidate in the 2019 federal election. Costas Menegakis, who was the MP for the riding during the 2011-2015 term returns as the Conservative representative. The NDP candidate in the riding is engineer and Richmond Hill native Adam Devita. The riding of Thornhill has been represented by Conservative incumbent Peter Kent since 2008, when the former award winning broadcaster defeated Liberal incumbent, Susan Kadis. Under the Harper government, Kent served as Environment Minister. The federal Liberal candidate for Thornhill is local resident and former Justice of the Peace Appointments Advisory Committee member, Gary Gladstone. NDP candidate Sara Petrucci is an environmentalist and a graduate from the University of Toronto. She holds a degree in criminology and sociology. Senior copywriter and actor, Rob Rachlis, is the Green Party candidate for Thornhill. In 2014, Rachlis was among several candidates vying for the mayoral seat in Toronto, which went to John Tory. He also ran as a candidate during past provincial and federal elections. Liron Alshek is the candidate representing the People’s Party of Canada in Thornhill. |

The boundaries for the riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge were established in 2012 and came into effect when the writ dropped for the 2015 Federal Election. An economist by trade, Francesco Sorbara became the first MP to represent the riding. During his four years in office, Sorbara served on several government groups and committees, and is now seeking re-election. Long time broadcaster and community advocate, Teresa Kruze is the federal candidate representing the Conservative Party of Canada in Vaughan-Woodbridge. Running on behalf of the NDP in the riding is lifelong environmentalist and college professor, Peter DeVita. With a focus on Canada’s climate crisis, the Green Party appointed Raquel Fronte to represent the party in the riding of Vaughan Woodbridge. And running on behalf of the People’s Party of Canada in the riding is Domenic Montesano. |
