Random Acts of Christmas Recipients – Page 2
The following are a few of the stories of those recipients of this year’s Random Acts of Christmas courtesy of The York Region Police Association, our sponsors and 105.9 The Region.
Last Christmas these parents spent time in the hospital with their baby. This year their happy “at home” holiday will be captured by a photographer as a reset for baby’s first Christmas.
This woman was recognized for her contribution to people around her. She asked to have her gift given to someone in greater need. We found a way to honour both her and the person to whom she paid it forward.
Illness takes it toll and when a daughter wrote that her mother was working two jobs and dad was ill for the third time in as many years, we gave them a break with a weekend at a resort and spa.
Recognized as a mother who despite being on her own with four kids still finds time to give back, we provided toys for the kids, new bedding and a gingerbread house to build.
Illness is limiting this man’s ability to work and provide, so we helped him with some “in home” care, grocery and gas cards.
The Women’s Centre of York Region helps women and children of all ages and is a first resource for people in need. We delivered gift cards and toys to help them help others during the holidays.
