Cyclist dies after Ottawa hit-and-run; police appeal for witnesses

OTTAWA — A cyclist has been killed in a hit-and-run in Ottawa.

Police say the man, whose name was not released, died in hospital.

They say the crash took place just around 7:20 a.m. on Laurier Avenue West, while both the cyclist and driver were travelling west.

Police say the driver fled and the abandoned vehicle was found on the Mackenzie King Bridge.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have video or photos of the incident.
